Some people refer to Representational art as Realism. It just means subjects other than abstract. It is a different process, one where I spend a lot of time learning about my subjects.
I study the lifestyle and habits of animals I am going to portray. Human subjects are fascinating for their personalities and lovely spirits. Physically speaking they all are a variation of the classical Ideal. If they weren't we wouldn't be able to tell each other apart! I use objects that I love to collect and things that inspire me when I do still lifes and florals, and my trips are a great resource for landscapes. Variety is the spice of life!
They are all wondrous explorations to me and part of my mission to spread joy and beauty throughout the land!
